The entire process from the initial consult to my personalized Living Trust was thoughtfully well-organized. In his PowerPoint presentation, Jeff Sykes of Safeguard Estate and Financial, did a wonderful job explaining the benefits of a Revocable Living Trust and made an appointment for me to meet with attorney Mark Hall. Mr. Hall, who is not affiliated with Safeguard was retained to provide legal services regarding the review and implementation of my estate plan. He answered and addressed any questions I had, and guided me on next steps. Finally, Derek Mills of Safeguard Estate and Financial provided me with a snazzy three-ringed binder containing every conceivable necessary document for my personal Living Trust. He spent as much time as I needed to go over each document neatly organized behind labeled divider tabs in the binder. These included the Living Trust, Certificate of Trust, Pour Over Will, Durable Power of Attorney, Living Will, Funded Assets, Home/Auto, and Funding Instructions. We discussed setting up a Trust for about 10 years. Our estate is not considered on the large side but didn't want probate to eat up our assets. We received a mailer for a presentation and dinner to discuss the trust process. The two words that continue to resonate throughout the entire process is honest and direct. The process was so much easier than expected. From the dinner presentation (Dinner was tasty) to the first in person meeting the process was seamless. We asked a million question and all were answered. You are walked through each step not in one meeting but several. Home work between meeting to make sure all assets are discussed. Details like what a DRN really means and what kinds of financial assets can be added to a trust was quite an eye opener. And lastly, the cost was so much less then expected which is certainly a plus.
